Holla everybody, Anthony here, senior ranking officer and bass player for Carter Road. My responsibilities include pounding out some tribal beats, goading the boys into new heights of musical abandonment, and making sure everybody gets home alive after the gig.
I started playing guitar when I was wee and have never stopped, it's a fundamental, indescribable, joyous thing. I don't know squat about music and don't care to learn, but it is in me and wants to get out. I have been in countless bands since I was a teenager in the late Seventies, Punk Rock back when you could get your ass kicked for it, Rock and Roll bands, an Elvis impersonator, Country and Rockabilly bands, Christian bands, you name it. Here lately I fancy playing my guitar real loud in a kickin' band that makes everybody, including me, jump around, and Carter Road is that medium. These guys are so intent on pushing themselves to the limit as a group at every gig that they will stop at nothing to achieve that end, no drama, no games, no practice, just show up and throw down with your A game.
Musical influences come into you and musical whatever comes out of you, and I'm not sure if the two are related, but I will listen to anything. Bob Marley, Frank Zappa, Snoop Dogg, Nickel Creek, 311, Ben Harper, A Perfect Circle and Tool, it's all good.
